Cask fresh beer is brewed with just four simple yet magical ingredients: malted barley, hops, water and yeast.  

It’s unfiltered, unpasteurised, naturally gently carbonated, and served cellar cool from the cask it’s been matured in. Because it’s a natural product, it should always be served within three days of tapping the barrel. 

That’s what makes cask the freshest beer on the bar.

Master brewers gently cajole the malted barley, hops, water and yeast into delicious cask fresh beer. 

The beer conditions and matures in the cask and it’s only served when its ready. In a chilled pub cellar, the beer is stored at perfect temperature and pulled up by the hydraulic handpull you see on the bar. It couldn't be fresher.

Cask fresh beer is low on climate impact. 

Beer is delivered in 72 pint firkins that are washed and re-used by brewers for many years. Regional brewers recycle much of what’s used in the process and spent ingredients are used as animal feed. 

And if you’re drinking cask from a local brewery, the beer miles could be tiny.
