Wadworth Brewery

Wadworth has been brewing beer in the beautiful market town of Devizes, in Wiltshire, since 1875.

Originally founded by Henry Alfred Wadworth, the business passed to his founding partner John Smith Bartholomew and is now in the fifth generation of ownership by the Bartholomew family, with Toby Bartholomew leading the company as Managing Director.

Quality and heritage are hugely important, and pub signs are still hand painted in the sign shop and the Wadworth shire horses deliver beers around the town.

As much of the existing Grade II listed building, and much of the plant equipment, is coming to the end of its useful life, Wadworth will soon embark on an exciting new chapter in its history with a move to a new brewing facility, still in Devizes. The new brewery will allow Wadworth to not only continue to brew its traditional cask ales but also broaden its range.

In addition to the family brewery Wadworth operates in excess of 150 pubs – across the South and West of England.

The estate is split between tenanted and managed pubs and Wadworth works hard with our partners to ensure that all the pubs offer a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and excellent quality food and drink to keep customers coming back time and time again.
